How we measure the cooking grates.

The easiest way to assure the correct grates for your model is by simply measuring. To get the most consistent measurement we measure the cooking grates upside down and measure edge to edge.

Ducane cooking grates consist of two sections which are each the same size and vary in size by grill model.  The width is the measurement across the cooking bars and the "front to back" measurement is the depth and is measured parallel to the bars.
 

We also give a total measurement with the cooking grates placed together.

The easiest way to clean the grates is to leave them in the grill and cover them completely with a couple of sheets of aluminum foil.  Turn the grill on high and cook on High for 15 minutes or as needed with the grill top closed.  Acting like a self-cleaning oven, the baked on food will turn to a fine white powder than can easily be rinsed or brushed away.
